Internet Pigs

Oridinary people using the internet to convey simple business transactions went a lot better then the microwave purchase. We needed pigs. We brought up Craigslist, and found our piglets. We called the owner of the post, he gave us his address, we went there, paid for the pigs, loaded the pigs, and took them home. End of story.

Internet Microwave Oven

Our microwave oven broke last weekend. My husband and I were going to use the purchasing opportunity for a date night the following weekend until I stood in the kitchen with a can of beans and couldn't figure out how I was going to cook them. I immediately went to one of my favorite sites and started researching microwave ovens. I found the one I wanted to purchase, checked the in store stock, grabbed my coat, and expected to return within the hour with a new microwave oven. Wrong!!! When I arrived at the store, they didn't have any on the shelf. I explained to the sales associate that the internet indicated that it was in stock. She rolled her eyes. With microwaves, the floor model counts as a stocked item, but we cannot sell them; so microwaves will always be "in stock" if you refer to our internet site. I asked her if another store in the area had any in stock. As she was checking, I noticed the price on the shelf was $20 higher then the internet price. I questioned the sales associate. She indicated that she could not price match. If I wanted, I could go to the kiosk and order it myself from the internet. One could be then shipped to the store for free at the lower price. "But I cannot have one off this shelf for that price?" That is correct. My husband and I could not believe how crazy this sounded, so we verified it with the manager, who confirmed the craziness. So, we went to the kiosk, ordered our microwave. We took the $20 we saved and went out to dinner. I have since learned how not only to cook beans, but reheat leftovers on the stove. We hope to pick up our new microwave from the internet orders counter in back of the store in a few days.

Where do I start? I have been married to my supportive husband, Paul, for 12 years. We have four beautiful children (Julia 8, Joseph 6, Jacob 4, and John 2) I work as a commercial underwriter for the greatest insurance company on earth. I teach insurance and women leadership courses. I am a brand new student to Boston University. I am a breast cancer survivor(during my last pregnancy). My family and I live in the vineyards on Lake Erie. We raise our own beef and pork, and have tons of extra animals around for fun and entertainment purposes. My goal is to eventually get out of the corporate world and teach.
